Mary,
I dread the possiblity of the Copper Connection being lost.
Are out of state letters of value or can only Californians make an impact?

Re: Urgent! I need your help!

Please write or fax Governor Gray Davis of California
asking that he appoint two more members to the California
State "Employment Training Panel" (ETP) as soon as possible.
Unfortunately, the State's power shortage problems has
distracted the Governor from performing this duty.

The ETP's responsibility is to award contracts and funding
for companies to train and upgrade their employees. In the
last 14 years and seven ETP contracts, The Copper Connection
has trained over 4,500 designers, engineers, fabricators,
etc.,using ETP funding.

We should have started training under a new contract in
February, but without a quorum, the Panel cannot act and we
are now "dead in the water". ETP funded training provides
57% of the school's income and the delay in getting the new
contract is causing a hardship on the school. As you can
imagine, the cost of maintaining seven empty classrooms is
daunting.

Please send a message to the Governor encouraging him to "FILL"
the seats on the Employment Training Panel as soon as possible.
A few nice words in support of The Copper Connection would be
appreciated as well. If the Governor and the ETP do not act
soon, this fine training center may be lost. Your message to
the Governor will be greatly appreciated.

Thank You so much, Mary Sugden
