I've been a member in this forum for a number of years even though I'm not a designer. I'm a production engineer and work out on the manufacturing floor. I'm subscribed to four IPC forums, DesignerCouncil, TechNet, LeadFree, and EnviroNet
 
I'm subscribed to the designer council and read every email just to see if I can learn something about why you guys do the things you do to make my life miserable (GRIN). Just kidding...
 
Seriously, I hope to learn something when I read posts from this forum. If I can contribute, I do. Most of the stuff that's talked about is over my head a lot of the time. I secretly would like to become a designer one day, shhh...don't tell anybody. Maybe sometime in the future when I get tired of working on the manufacturing floor.

Now how come I only see posts by less than 10 people on this thing? 

I think we have a lot of 'lurkers'... and they could contribute to the
conversation.... But they don't for some reason... why is that? 
I would like to see a roll call of who finds this forum useful and would ask
that they voice their opinions more... good dialog and discussion is what
makes this organization a worthwhile thing to belong to... Who are you and
what makes this organization valuable to you? The whole concept here is to
work together to improve the lot of designers... their education, and
prestige in the industry... and hopefully we improve the lives of the
manufacturers by making better informed design decisions... that make the
boards more manufacturable and testable. 

I would like to hear some other opinions besides the few that are brave
enough to speak them... It's your designers council... use it to the benefit
of your profession... make a difference... be a part of the solutions...
etc... 

Am I wrong?
