This brief description of IPC-D-356 netlist fields may help:


IPC-D-356 Electrical Test Specification


Operation Code Definition (Columns 1-3) 

	Column 1 	3 	= 	Start of test point record
			C 	= 	Comment information (IGI-Ext. mid-point
					test record not in test point layer)

	Column 2 	1 	= 	Feature & through hole
			2 	= 	Feature only (SMD etc.)
			5 	= 	Tooling feature (defined as such in 
					original data source)
			6 	= 	Tooling hole (defined in original data
					or non-plated holes from IGI-Ext. Gerber
					extraction)

	Column 3 	7 	= 	This file is using the standard electrical
					TEST record format

Signal Identification Field (Columns 4-20) 

	Column 4-17	 	= 	Net name (node number) 

			 	= 	N/C in columns 4-6 means single point
					net / isolated points

Component Identifier Field (Columns 21-32)

	Columns 21-26 	= 	Reference designator (device nomenclature)

	Column 27	 	= 	"-" A dash to separate the reference
					designator from pin identifier

	Column 28-31 	= 	The pin identifier (pin number)

	Column 32	 	= 	May contain a "M" to indicate a midpoint

Hole Definition Field (Columns 33-38)

	Column 33	 	= 	"D" drilled hole identifier

	Columns 34-37 	= 	hole diameter in .0001" or .001mm

	Column 38 		= 	"P" indicates plated through hole (PTH) 

		 		= 	"U" indicates unplated through hole (NPTH)

Test Point Access Field (Columns 39-41)

	Column 39	 	= 	"A" access code

	Columns 40-41 	= 	"00" test point accessible from 
					both sides (PTH)

			 	= 	"01" test point is accessible from
					side 1 (primary side)

			 	= 	"0n" test point is accessible from 
					side "n" where "n" is usually
					the last outer layer


Test Point Location Field (Columns 42-57)		The (x,y) location of the best point.

	Column 42	 	= 	Shall contain "X" to specify the X location

	Column 43	 	= 	"+" or "-" or nothing to specify the 
					sign (nothing = "+")

	Column 44-49 	= 	Shall contain six digits representing
					.0001" or .001mm as the smallest 
					increment. Leading zero's may be blanks

	Column 50	 	= 	Shall contain "Y" to specify the "Y" location

	Column 51 		= 	"+" or "-" or nothing to specify the 
					sign (nothing = "+")

	Columns 52-57 	= 	Shall contain six digits representing
					.0001" or .001mm as the smallest increment.
					Leading zero's may be blanks

Feature Size Field (Columns 58-71) 	The (x,y) dimensions and rotations 
						for a rectangle feature.

	Column 58		= 	"X" shall contain an "X" 

	Columns 59-62 	= 	"X" dimension in .0001" or .001mm

	Column 63		= 	"Y" shall contain "Y"

	Columns 64-67	= 	"Y" dimension in .0001" or .001mm 

	Column 68		= 	"R" shall contain "R" to signify 
					counter clockwise rotation of feature

	Columns 69-71 	= 	Shall contain three digits to represent
					rotation (000-360)

	Column 72 		= 	Is unassigned and should be left blank

Solder mask Field (Column 73-74)

	Column 73		= 	"S" shall contain an "S" to signify solder
					mask information

	Column 74 		= 	"0" specifies no solder mask

				= 	"1" specifies primary side solder mask

				= 	"2" specifies secondary side solder mask

				= 	"3" specifies both sides solder masked

Alternate Test Point Record (Columns75-80)

	Column 75	 	= 	"A" indicates an alternate test record exist

	Column 76-80	= 	A five digit alphanumeric identification
					representing to the alternate test record
