Cyrus et al;

It was just Altium. I believe the entire PCB West show was a huge disappointment. PCB West has seen dwindling participation over the past few years to the point that it is now somewhat depressing to walk the exhibit floor. I think this can partly be blamed on the economy and partly on UPMedia. As I spoke with some colleagues that participated in the show I learned that PCB West is an unusually expensive show to participate in. It is also somewhat inconvenient in that they chose the San Jose Convention center over the Santa Clara Convention Center. The later has some advantages for any electronics related show as they are more centally located in the heart of Silicon Valley, the parking is free and it is easier to find.

I really believe that UP Media needs to take a hard look at how they do trade shows because it appears to me that many firms are choosing other shows to participate in... More "bang for the buck".

Like you - this is just MHO.

Sound like they just missed the bus.

Dear Altium and Brent Smith,

Being that I live in Arizona and it is spring season baseball time I
would rate Altium's decision to not participate at the PCB West as a
swing and a miss but, booo! Altium looked as if they did not even try.

I attended PCB West last week and was very disappointed <SNIP>
