The silkscreen or copper mark on the board is the only visual
way of determining that you have it placed correctly.
Unless you have an XRay viewer , which you would not typically
have between placement and reflow. The silkscreen mark is you your best bet
manually.
BGA's that are down to 1mm pitch are pretty forgiving with a
few thousandths of misplacement.
Good Luck on hand placing them, and  hope you have a steady hand
until your placement equipment is in use.
