Orange County IPC Designer Council Meeting Announcement:

The Orange County chapter meeting switched to a lunch format for the May 16th meeting which featured a presentation about "Design for PCB Manufacturing" given by Terry Bice from Circuit Express, Inc. of Tempe, Arizona.  The new format was a great success and allowed many to attend who would have suffered from the rush hour commute.

On August 1st, we continue our "Design for Manufacturing" Series with a presentation from Kathy Palumbo, founder of Production Analysis and Learning Services LLC.

"PCB layout for Circuit Card Assembly made easy...everything you ever wanted to know about manufacturing but were afraid to ask"

The presentation will start with a crash course in the world of manufacturing and a review of typical Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) capabilities and how they greatly depend on proper PCB layout.  The presentation will then go into how to set up a standard CCA DFM process, and what to look for from concept to proto-type to production.  A standard DFM template will be provided to attendees to take with them for modification and implementation at their own facility.

Kathy Palumbo has over 17 years of industrial and manufacturing engineering experience, is a certified IPC instructor for the IPC-A-610, 600, and J-STD-001 documents, and is currently serving on the LA/OC SMTA Chapter board of directors.

Reserve a space on your calendar for Thursday, August 1st from 11:30 to 1:30 at the Mentor Graphics office in Irvine, California.  Lunch will be hosted by Mentor Graphics Corporation.

IPC Designers Council Members will be admitted free of charge.  Non-Members will be asked to contribute a $5.00 donation at the door.  Contributors will get a $5.00 discount applied to their membership should they decide to join the IPC Designers Council at the event.
