When I was designing for JNA Telecommunications here in Sydney, we did
two parallel ink lines for 0603s: they were like cap plates for
capacitors & 90degrees to that for resistors. We never had any
(reported) problems with tombstoning, although the assemblers were known
to touch up the occasional part (for unspecified reasons). This left a
lot more room for References.
Although the ink was notionally close to the pads, we never had problems
with ink on pads because if there ever was overlying ink, it gets nuked
during HASL (or equiv) board making process.

DISCLAIMER
I would ask your assemblers, not your board shop, as to their views.
Don't do what they don't want unless there is no choice.
