                        The War of the RoHS's

Come join the Greater Boston Chapter of the IPC Designer's
Council, on site at the Global Conference on Lead Free
Reliability, for an up-to-the-minute dialog with the front
lines of the battle for lead-free compliance.

Thanks to the Boston location of this conference, we are
pleased to present a FREE expert panel discussion, complete
with hotbutton topics and lively answers to your questions.

A huge thank you in advance to our all-star panelists:
Dave Hillman and Doug Pauls of Rockwell Collins, veterans
emeritus of the lead free transition, "Mr Reliability"
Werner Engelmaier, Gary Erickson of Sanmina and moderated
by Jeff Seeger of Applied CAD.

Thanks also to the IPC for making room for us. For info
on the conference, which still has some availability for
the paid program but does have a looming deadline for reg-
        istration, go to www.ipc.org/LFReliability .

        Agenda:

6:00 Jeff Seeger - Chapter Update
6:15 "War of the RoHS's" Free Panel Discussion

        Location:

Library Room at the Marriott Courtyard Boston Tremont Hotel
275 Tremont St, Boston MA, 617-426-1400

RSVP's are not needed. Just show up, armed with questions!
Membership is appreciated, but not required. C'mon down!

        President's Note:

The transition to lead-free has been called the most impor-
tant change in electronics production since the transition
to surface mount in 1984. Some say it is even more signi-
ficant considering the body of study lead based solder has
received over the decades. Designers have a real oppor-
tunity to be involved in a key role in the transition, but
it requires more understanding of situations outside the
CAD package, like performance specifications and industry
standards. Your boiler plate just wore out.

        Mission:

The Greater Boston Chapter of the IPC Designer's Council
is working to bring you stake holders from every discipline,
to show you their problems and solutions so you can add to
        your arsenal of knowledge.

        Thanks and regards,
Jeff Seeger, CTO, Applied CAD Knowledge Inc.
President, Greater Boston Chapter, IPC Designer's Council
