Joe Morrison, Director of Technology for ADIVA.com located in Vestal, NY,
will discuss the pivotal role PCB Designers perform in determining how easy
or hard it is to manufacture a product. Inputs to the designer come from
many sources, and are often in conflict with each other. What's a designer
to do? This presentation will discuss the Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
problem, and provide some solutions that may help. Included will be a case
study of how one design team evolved to better handle DFM.
Adiva creates Manufacturing Simulation solutions for PCB analysis. Joe has
been in the PCB Cad business for 17 years, concentrating on Routing,
Manufacturing Interface, and Tool Integration; with the Dii Group, Design
Solutions, Lockheed Martin, Loral, and IBM. He has a Masters of Engineering
in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in
Electrical and Computer Engineering & Computer Science from Clarkson
University. Joe is also the Chairman of the International Cadence User
Group. You can occasionally read some of Joe's articles in "PC Design
Magazine".
