A Desparate Plea..........!

People,

I am a fairly inexperienced PCB Layout Engineer situated in Manchester,England. I started two
years ago as a CAD librarian as a way in to the industry, after spending nearly two years
working in a PCB fab shop.

My problem is this:- whilst I have laid out several boards (reasonably simple multi-layers),
I have never had any formal training so feel ill-equiped to tackle a complicated design,
High speed, RF, EMI critical etc. I have spent several weeks searching for suitable training
courses but the only decent ones I have found are usually in the States.

The kind of training I'm looking for would include topics such as the following:-

        Good layout practices eg placement orientations, conductor widths etc
        EMI layout - power distribution, decoupling, ground shielding etc
        Digital layout techniques,
        Analogue & RF layout techniques,

basically anything that teaches good practices in PCB design. I have a degree in Electrical
and Electronic Engineering (albeit not a particularly good one!) and two years limited
"on the job" experience so I have a good grounding (if you'll pardon the expression!), I just
want to improve....

IF ANYONE OUT THERE KNOWS OF ANY TRAINING COURSES IN THE UK, OR KNOWS WHO MIGHT KNOW
(ORGANISATIONS ETC) PLEASE PLEASE DROP ME A LINE.
