I agree.  I, like Bill Brooks, sweated through the exam and was very nervous while waiting for the results (87%, would have been 90% if I had not gone back and changed some of my answers); not only because the test was hard but because I, not my company, would have to foot the bill if I did not pass.  I also believe the test to be a valuable tool and not easy, but some people have great short term memory and do test well no matter the subject.

The "rookie" at my test was being forced to take the test by a supervisor even though this person had never layed out a board before.  This person barely passed and I believe will go on to be a good designer but I would not recommend anyone without 2+ years of experience try it.  I would never dream that anyone but a very experienced designer could pass the C.I.D.+ test.  I have been designing boards since 1977 and have not convinced myself to take it, and the stress, yet.
