BOY HOWDY on those silly new ones... We all learned the good old gates and
buffers stuff, WHY did it all have to change? Were we getting to use to the
old way? OK, I don't want to start a war here, but it does seem like a lot
of people like the old way better. Can someone tell me what the major
advantage is to the block type symbols? Is it really easier to understand. I
understand the functions of the blocks and all that but... Did we try to
make a better wheel?

Try BS3939 which has been superceded by BS EN 60617 1996 (there are
many
parts to this)
Mind you, I got it over 12 months ago, read it & have only looked at
it
since, about 3 times.
I prefer to use the older ANSI symbols, than those hard to
understand
silly boxes etc.
Matthew.
