Jay,
IPC standards are created by the industry for the industry. They represent
safe practices that more than 80 percent of the industry can build to with
high yields.
It would be perfectly safe for you to specify these standards without having
to customize them to your suppliers specific requirements.
As you develop your suppliers you may wish to customize for your specific
needs.
