Couldn't agree with this comment less. We're board designers first,
second
and third. Tools are immaterial.

A good carpenter can build a house using any one of a chain saw, a
circular
saw, a hand saw and even hammer and chisel. The knowledge lies in how to
build the house, using the tool at hand is a simple matter of learning
how.

Same with board design. If you don't know how to design boards no tool
is
going to do it for you. As I keep saying to anyone who listens
(increasingly
rare event these days), using a cad tool and designing circuit boards
are
two very different things.

I think this will be a great thing for PCB designers. If they eventually
blend the product lines then finding jobs will be much easier. Remember,
you are not really a PCB designer you are a PADs designer or an
Expedition Designer or an Allegro guy. All jobs are much more system
specific than design knowledge and experience.
