Bill & Jami,

I'll do you one better not that I am necessarily proud of it.

I started in boards in 1966 at Shipley Company.

So...the threat of eyelet's replacing thu hole chemistry got our attention.

Actually Digital Equipment (DEC) embarked on an evaluation program with a
"high tech" eyelet called the "griplet"

If I recall correctly it had prongs which were supposed to enhance the
reliability of the eyelet and of course be a lot cheaper than chemical electroless
copper deposition.

The rest is history...good idea but too much of a stretch!

Thank you.
