The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has organized a special
workshop on "International Standardization of Occupational Health &
Safety Management Systems--Is There a Need?" This workshop will be held
on 7-8 May 1996 at the Rosemont Convention Center in Rosemont, IL (near
O'Hare airport).

The purpose of this workshop is to help ANSI formulate a U.S. position on
OHS standards prior to an International Standards Organization
(ISO) meeting on this issue in Switzerland on 5-6 September 1996.

ANSI will consider the effect that international OSH standards would have
on business and industry.

If you would like more details on this workshop, please contact Star
Summerfield at IPC (email [log in to unmask]; phone 847/509-9700 x347; fax
847/509-9798) or call ANSI at 212/642-4922. If you cannot attend the
workshop, you can still participate on this issue by filling out an ANSI
questionnaire (call 212/642-4922).
