You are invited to attend the upcoming lead-free electronics workshop on June 19th in Marlborough, MA. This half-day workshop continues TURI $B!G (Js effort to keep the Massachusetts electronics industry on the leading edge of global policy and technological changes. Topics will include:

*       Tin Whiskers  Don Abbott, Texas Instruments and David Pinksy, Raytheon Corporation
*       IPC/EPA Substitutes Assessment of Lead-Free Solders  Maria Sokolof, University of Tennessee
*       Update on Massachusetts Lead-Free Research Consortium Test Results
*       Update from APEX 2003
*       Update on the European Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive and the Restrictions on Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive, which were recently adopted as European law. These two directives ban the use of lead, certain brominated flame retardants, and other hazardous substances in electronics and electrical equipment.
