For any of you who plan to submit comments on EPA's proposal to require facilities that are subject to Toxic Release Inventory reporting requirements to also report chemical usage data, the EPA has extended the comment deadline to February 28th.

IPC has drafted comments on behalf of the industry opposing the expansion of TRI on a number of grounds, including lack of statutory authority, onerous regulatory burden on small businesses, lack of need, and danger to U.S. competitiveness.

If you would like to include specific comments in the IPC version, please e-mail me your comments at [log in to unmask] The proposal was published in the Federal Register on October 1st and can be found at 61 FR 51321.
